CW to air ‘The World Dog Awards’ in 2015

Share

The CW is diving right into the heart of awards season next year with its own awards show. Though it’s not the kind of awards show you’d immediately think of. Unless you’re a dog person.

“The World Dog Awards” promise to honor the greatest achievements of man’s best friend in the fields of entertainment, health services and the military. And everyday dogs who somehow managed to find fame through the Internet will also be honored.

While there are currently no televised awards shows to honor humans’ achievements in health services and the military, dogs will finally get their time to shine in prime time.

Categories will include “best actor in a supporting role to a dog” and “outstanding achievement in the field,” which will recognize dogs who have risked their lives for humans or shown outstanding kindness to another animal.

Forget about rooting for cats or monkeys or even bears. This show is strictly for dogs. And people who really, really like dogs.

The awards will take place at the Barker Hanger at the Santa Monica Airport in January 2015.
