NBC is getting a jump on the fall TV season by picking up three new dramas.

The network announced Friday that it has ordered “Chicago Med,” the latest series set in the Windy City from executive producer Dick Wolf, the man behind “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” The ensemble cast in this ER hospital drama will be headed by Oliver Platt, who starred in the backdoor pilot for “Chicago Med” that aired as part of “Chicago Fire” last month.

Another doctor drama making the cut is “Heartbreaker,” which stars Melissa George as a famous and trailblazing heart-transplant surgeon struggling to overcome skeptical colleagues and forge her own way.

Then there’s “Blindspot,” the latest drama from prolific writer-producer Greg Berlanti (“The Mysteries of Laura”), about an FBI team investigating a mystery involving a woman covered in intricate tattoos, each of which contains clues to crimes.
