David Ulin’s favorite books of 2010

2010, it appears, was the year books hit the tipping point. The release of the iPad, the continued success of the Kindle, the launch of Google Editions, which may take e-books (and e-bookselling) to a whole new level -- all this points to significant shifts in how we read. And yet, for me it was still, in the end, what’s in the books, rather than how they are delivered, that remains important, the words and stories and ideas that continue to be what draws us to the written word.
