American Eagle launches skinny, skinny jean ad campaign

Share

Sometimes, skinny jeans simply aren’t skinny enough. Have you ever wished they were tighter? More form fitting around the thighs? Wish your jeans were so tight you could hardly sit down in them? To meet the demand, American Eagle has launched its skinniest jeans ever -- sort of.

The new AE skinniest skinnies are so skinny, there’s no actual denim involved. In fact, the skinnies are nothing more than cans of blue paint. The label nonetheless launched an ad campaign modeling the new jeans, which you can see here. Warning: Some of the images are not safe to view at work.

For the dudes, a dark indigo color, and for the gals, a lighter color called bright light. AE is “selling” the duo pack for $49.95 on its website. And if you’re gullible enough to click on the link to add the product to your bag, you get this message “Sorry! The AEO Skinny Skinny is Temporarily Sold Out.”

In case you were wondering what the faux jeans can do, the product description describes the “jeans” as: “Sits low on the waist; contours through thigh, knee, ankle; features new SkinTight technology; most fitted leg opening; extended lengths available; available for him and her.” Pretty advanced for body paint.

Ah well, I guess all the skinny-jean loving hipsters will just have to find another way to stay tight.

Thanks for the laugh, AE!
