European designers are opening outposts here in droves. A new boutique crops up in a different neighborhood each week, with a whole new point of view on West Coast style. And the sample sale is a regular retail outlet not just for fashion insiders, but for everyone. Shopping has become more than just a passing fancy. Il Primo Passo for Shoe Addicts Santa Monica’s newest addiction facility, for shoes that is. Organic coffee and wine are on offer to loosen up shoppers at this mecca for footwear from hard-to-find designers Miss Trish of Capri, LD Tuttle, Christian Lacroix, Maloles, Emilio Pucci and Rupert Sanderson.

Neckisses by Lexi L.A. designer Lexi Craven launches her newest collection of haute twist-a-beads (remember those from the 1980s?) with a shop-in-shop at the Cabana boutique. Her designs incorporate semiprecious stones, freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and beads. Along with her vibrant necklaces, earrings and bracelets are also featured.

Presse Tuesday: Veteran fashion journalists Renee Roman Klein and Zoe Schaffer’s aptly named store opens with a mix of high-end and Boho chic lines, including Vera Wang, Rag N’ Bone and Isabela Capeto as well as jewelry and handbags.

Diabless March 28: The Parisian line, established 13 years ago, is opening its first store on U.S. soil. The look is casual yet sophisticated, with checked miniskirts, cropped leather jackets and girlish dresses.

H&M April 12: H&M is coming to the O.C. in not one but two stores housed within South Coast Plaza. That adds up to more than 100,000 square feet of cheap chic fashion. Doors open at noon.
