After months of delays, the Kress is finally ready for its close-up. The multistory venue, with a pan-Asian restaurant on the main floor (sushi bar pictured), a nightclub in the basement, a third-floor lounge and a rooftop bar with stunning views of downtown and the Hollywood sign, will soft-launch this weekend. A grand opening to the public is set for July 21, but if you want to be like Paris Hilton (who held her wrap party for her forthcoming TV show at the Kress), Bill Maher, Jermaine Dupri, Nas and a crush of other celebrities who have already passed through the 38,000-square-foot space (which was most recently Frederick’s of Hollywood) at private events over the last month, then get thee to 6608 Hollywood Blvd. . . . Bar Deluxe, Adolfo Suaya’s new bar on Cahuenga, probably will open by the “end of summer,” reps say. . . . David Judaken’s revamping of the Garden of Eden is humming along; reps for the Hollywood club king (who also owns Opera and Crimson) hint that his new bar, Heir, may be open as early as Aug. 15. . . . Residents in the condos above S Bar have sued the venue’s owner, SBE, citing excessive noise. Said a representative for SBE, “We don’t comment on pending litigation.” . . . Finally, Bar Nineteen12 inside the Beverly Hills Hotel celebrated its one-year anniversary Wednesday night with the debut of “Fresh Wednesdays.”
