New Beverly Hills hotel tea service includes tea cocktails, bourbon scones

Share

Afternoon tea may bring to mind coiffed hair, floral prints, British accents and the word “mam.” At the L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, tea time means cocktails.

The hotel has launched Wicked Tea, a new boozy tea service at its restaurant Livello. Expect liquor in everything from your hot tea to chef Roger Thomas’ smoked salmon on a Fernet Branca pumpernickel bun.

Tea service is $75 per person and includes one hibiscus and chamomile Champagne cocktail or strawberry tea Pimm’s cup.

On the menu” a cranberry, gin and orange scone; bacon and bourbon scone; Cognac and caramel chocolate brownie; passion fruit liquor and chocolate macaron; and Calvados apple cider with warm cinnamon beignets.

Savory bites include the smoked salmon with dill on a Fernet Branca pumpernickel bun; egg salad with elderflower liqueur and lemon aioli on a soft pullman loaf; and an Armagnac, leek and mushroom gratin.

The Wicked Tea service is available daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the end of June. Yes, that means you can drink before noon.

And having Mother’s Day tea just got a lot more interesting.
