Tiered water rates: In the April 14 California section, an article about a legal challenge brought by San Juan Capistrano residents over the city’s tiered water rates said that water districts in appeals districts outside of Orange County would not be bound by a 4th District Court of Appeal decision. A published decision from a California appellate court is binding in all of the state’s trial courts, said Benjamin T. Benumof, an attorney for the plaintiffs. If a subsequent California appellate court decision differs, trial courts may choose which decision they find more persuasive.

LACMA at 50: In the April 12 Calendar section, a graphic accompanying an article on the architecture of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art campus as it turns 50 years old misspelled the name of the Resnick Pavilion as Resnic.

Water conservation: In the April 8 Section A, an article about a State Water Resources Control Board plan to base conservation targets for cities and towns on per-capita rates of water consumption listed East Los Angeles as among the cities that have the lowest per-capita use. East L.A. is an unincorporated section of Los Angeles County.
