Man dies after his car collides with tour bus in Bloomington

A 26-year-old man was killed Sunday evening after his car collided with a tour bus in Bloomington. Four bus passengers were injured.

Pedro Lira of Fontana was driving east on Valley Boulevard about 6:45 p.m. when his white Dodge Charger and the tour bus collided, according to the San Bernardino County coroner’s office. The bus was making a left turn onto Linden Avenue, according to the coroner's office.

Lira, who was trapped in his car and had to be extricated, was taken to Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Fontana, where he died an hour later, the coroner’s office said.

Four people on the bus were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

Authorities initially said nine people were injured but later lowered that figure.
