A Simi Valley woman who had been missing for two days was rescued Wednesday after her wrecked vehicle was found 50 feet down a canyon road in Malibu.

Authorities said the woman is Jenifer Duron, 40, who was reported missing after she didn’t return home Monday from a run at a Malibu beach. She was last seen leaving her Simi Valley home in her white Kia Sorento.

The woman was found about 9:30 a.m. by a pair of bicyclists who heard her screams for help from Latigo Canyon Road, said Sgt. Jeff Del Rio of the Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lost Hills Station.

Police and fire crews called to the scene worked throughout the morning to rescue the woman from the wreckage of her white SUV, said L.A. County fire specialist Randall Wright.

Rescuers used a combination of ropes and a basket to carry the woman out of the canyon. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

It was unclear how the crash occurred.
