Five disaster aid centers to open this week

The state will open three disaster assistance centers today for victims of the wildfires in San Diego County.

The centers, operated by state and local governments, will provide a one-stop source for information on how to replace records lost in the fires, file insurance claims and apply for assistance and housing.

A disaster assistance center will open in northern Los Angeles County on Friday, as will a fourth center in San Diego County. Additional centers will be opened as needed.

Representatives of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, the Employment Development Department, the Contractors State License Board and the state departments of Insurance, Veterans Affairs, Motor Vehicles, Public Health and Social Services will be at the centers, along with other agencies.

The centers will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Rancho Bernardo-Glassman Recreation Center will have extended hours Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The following centers will open today:

* Rancho Bernardo-Glassman Recreation Center, 18448 W. Bernardo Drive, San Diego CA 92127

* Ramona Community School, 1710 Montecito Road, Ramona CA 92065

* Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane, Fallbrook CA 92028

The following centers will open Friday:

* Santa Clarita Sports Complex Activity Center, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita CA 91350

* Rancho San Diego-Cuyamaca College, 900 Rancho San Diego Parkway, El Cajon CA 92109
