Two men are sought in slaying of man and son
Authorities are searching for two suspects in the shooting deaths of a 14-year-old boy and his father.
The deaths were reported about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 4000 block of Downing Avenue.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said two Latino men were seen talking with 14-year-old Pedro Estrada after walking up to the teenager’s home. His father, Jose Luis Estrada, 40, who was inside the home, ran outside when he heard shots. The elder Estrada ran after the men and was shot.
The Sheriff’s Department asks that anyone with information call its homicide unit at (323) 890-5500.
