From Times Wire Reports

A British man who fled the U.S. after his wife and baby were shot to death was convicted of murder by a jury that rejected his claim that the mother killed her daughter and herself.

Neil Entwistle, 29, closed his eyes and shook his head upon being found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his wife, Rachel, 27, and their 9-month-old baby, Lillian Rose, in Woburn.

Prosecutors alleged Entwistle was in debt and dissatisfied with his sex life when he shot his family with his father-in-law’s gun in January 2006. He traveled 50 miles to return the gun and bought a one-way airline ticket home to England. He was extradited less than a month later.

The sentence in the state for first-degree murder is automatically life in prison without the possibility of parole.
