USC’s football game at Arizona State will be played on Thanksgiving Day, UCLA’s game against Oregon at the Rose Bowl has been shifted to Nov. 24, and the Trojans will play the Bruins on Dec. 1 at the Coliseum.

Those were among the changes announced Friday by the Pacific 10 Conference.

USC will play on Thanksgiving for the first time since 1938. The game will kickoff at 5 p.m. PST and will be televised nationally by ESPN.

Steve Lopes, a senior associate athletic director at USC, said the game was moved at the request of the conference’s television partners after the UCLA game that had been scheduled for Nov. 24 was moved to “Championship Saturday” on Dec. 1.

USC had been scheduled to play Arizona State on Nov. 17, leaving the Trojans with two weeks between games. Rescheduling to Nov. 22 gives the Trojans 12 days between the California game on Nov. 10 and 10 days before the UCLA game, which will be televised by ABC.
