The Rams will resume organized team activities on Tuesday with another quarterback on the roster.

With Nick Foles absent from organized team activities, the Rams agreed to terms with quarterback Dylan Thompson, a person with knowledge of the situation said Monday.

The 6-foot-3, 218-pound Thompson worked out for the Rams late last week. Free-agent tight end Benson Browne, running back Terrence Magee and nose tackle Cam Thomas also have worked out recently for the Rams and are expected to join the team.

Thompson, 24, passed for 3,564 yards and 26 touchdowns, with 11 interceptions, at South Carolina in 2014. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent and was mainly on the practice squad last season.

Thompson was teammates at South Carolina with receiver Pharoh Cooper, a fourth-round pick by the Rams.

Foles has not attended voluntary off-season workouts since the Rams selected quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 pick in the draft. Rams Coach Jeff Fisher said last week that the Rams were “on the same page,” with Foles and “we’re trying to work things out.”

But the Rams would like to trade Foles. He is not expected to be on the field with the team until training camp, when the market for a veteran quarterback could improve because of injuries or other situations affecting NFL teams.

Thompson joins a Rams quarterback corps that includes Goff, Case Keenum and Sean Mannion.

Keenum took first-team snaps during the first two organized team activities last week but he only observed during Friday’s workout.
