Evander Holyfield’s son uses bulldogs to announce commitment to Georgia
Woodward Academy (Ga.) running back Elijah Holyfield announced his decision to commit to the University of Georgia on Sept. 4, 2015.
Commitment ceremony theatrics are nothing new in the world of college football, but bringing in live animals always grabs a little extra attention.
Woodward Academy running back Elijah Holyfield, son of ex-heavyweight champ Evander, announced his commitment to Georgia in a ceremony at the school's gymnasium in College Park, Ga.
He picked Georgia over Auburn, Alabama, South Carolina and Tennessee, but it was the way he made his intentions known that drew attention.
"Before I announce, I need two of my friends who are outside to help me announce," Holyfield said.

— 11Alive News (@11AliveNews) September 4, 2015The 5-foot-10, 205-pound rusher brought in two white bulldogs named Gurley and Chubb after Georgia past running back Todd Gurley, now with the Rams, and the Bulldogs' current Heisman Trophy hopeful rusher, Nick Chubb. A consensus four-star recruit, Elijah Holyfield ran for more than 1,700 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior last season.
