Fans come out in droves to watch Kings parade
Kings fans took over Figueroa Street in droves Thursday as the team officially celebrated its Stanley Cup championship with a parade and rally.
This time, it was Kings purple, not Lakers purple, that lined the streets.
“It’s a lot of people out there,” forward Anze Kopitar said after the parade. “It was amazing.
“If you’re outside, you found out that this is definitely turning into a hockey town, and we’re going to keep it that way.”

Forward Dustin Penner said it was “extremely loud” and that he heard plenty of horns during the parade.
“It was amazing to see the support from a lot of the faces that we’ve heard cheer all year.”
The victory rally inside Staples Center will begin at 2:30 p.m. in front of a sold-out crowd of over 18,000 people.
