Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell love the passion displayed by their team’s fans. Even when a fan calls for one of them to be fired. And even when that fan is the mother of one of their star players.

The Seahawks lost their season opener to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, 34-31, in overtime after running back Marshawn Lynch was stuffed on fourth-and-one on what ended up being the final play of the game.

The five-time Pro Bowler’s mother, Delisa Lynch, vented her frustrations on Facebook the next day. She suggests that the only reason Bevell gave the ball to Lynch this time was to make up for not giving it to him in a critical situation at the end of the Super Bowl in January.

And she wants Bevell out of there.

A portion of her post reads: “it was totally different at the superbowl the line was better than yesterday no blocking and to the offense caller who should have been fired yes i said it Fired !!! He is the worst play-caller ever the only reason he called that dumb ... play yesterday is to be able to justify the 1 yard that wasn’t called in the superbowl ,but most fans already figured this out .were still on a mission but i know the Seahawks staff loves that play caller more than a win ,go figure #‎nfldontpayme# I love this team and will stand up to anybody who tries to destroy it boom!!!!”

Carroll was asked about the post during his weekly press conference on Wednesday. He said he hadn’t seen it but figures it was just “a mom looking after her kid. Ain’t nothing wrong with that.”

He added: “There’s a lot of passion with our following and the 12s and with the family members. Think where media is today. It’s kind of your guys’ world. But anyway. Just something that I’m sure she has strong feelings and I don’t blame her for having strong feels. She’s a mom.”

Bevell echoed his head coach. “I’m glad we have passionate fans,” he said.

“It comes with the territory. ... I’m totally confident in what I’m doing. I’m totally confident that I’m trying to get our team in the best position to win. And I’m glad that she’s passionate about it.”
