A dull ballpark in Cincinnati

Share

What a lovely look at Cincinnati by Steven Rosen [“Cincinnati Hits a Home Run,” Sept. 7].

But to say the new Great American Ball Park “isn’t as carefully ‘retro’ as the other new baseball stadiums and has been criticized” is more than an understatement. The place is downright dull and is a fitting replacement for Riverfront Stadium. The turf is green instead of turquoise, and the dirt a nice shade of brown instead of gray -- $280 million doesn’t buy what it used to.
