According to the hotel, 15% of dog owners surveyed for the American Kennel Club’s 21st Century Dog Owner 2007 said their significant other was jealous of the pooch. Each couple is invited to bring the dog, which will be entertained and pampered from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily while the pair devote attention to each other. The pup gets daily walks in Sao Paulo’s Ibirapuera Park. You get one spa treatment per person, per day: facial hydration or a one-hour massage.

Sail among the dozens of islands of British Columbia’s northern Vancouver Island area aboard the 92-foot Maple Leaf schooner. Whale-watching is a main attraction. Sailors can expect to see orcas, humpback whales, dolphins and porpoises. The scoping will be interspersed with island hopping. “We might do a rain-forest walk on one island, visit a beautiful beach on another,” said Maureen Gordon, marketing manager and guide.
