When will they learn about April 1 rumors? OC Weekly’s Stick a Fork in It Thursday morning posted an item suggesting that chef and television star Anthony Bourdain would be opening a branch of New York restaurant Les Halles on Balboa Peninsula near Newport Beach. Other blogs, including Uncouth Gourmands and Eater L.A., quickly picked up on it. It’s a joke, folks, and that’s straight from the lovably irascible chef himself.
‘What can I say? Never heard nothin’? Don’t know nothin’. But if I learned anything in 28 years working in restaurants it’s that I never want to OWN a restaurant.’
Still, it was fun while it lasted.
