Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies conducted a massive traffic stop on the northbound 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles in pursuit of at least one bank robber trying to flee with a bag of cash.
Authorities shut down the freeway and conducted searches, car by car, for the suspect and a bag of cash stolen from a Moreno Valley bank, which was equipped with a tracking device, authorities said.
Deputies opened the trunks of several cars and patted down suspects. At least three people have been detained.
Most lanes were reopened just after 1:15 p.m.
