Weeks before its release, Darren Aronofsky‘s psychological thriller ‘Black Swan’ has already gathered plenty of buzz. Awards critics are fawning over Natalie Portman‘s performance as a competitive ballerina torn between her seemingly sweet nature and her darker impulses. But there has also been buildup over one aspect of the film that its stars aren’t too keen to talk about: a sexy scene in which Portman’s character and another dancer, played by Mila Kunis, have a lesbian encounter.

At the Hollywood premiere of the film at AFI Fest on Thursday, it was clear the two leading ladies thought the hype over the short part of the film was overblown.

‘You know, you do films where you’re intimate with your costars on screen whether you’re a husband or wife or whatever, so it’s just like anything else,’ Kunis told a reporter next to us on the carpet.

When said reporter followed up by asking Kunis if she preferred ‘Natalie or Justin’ — referring to Portman versus Justin Timberlake, Kunis’ costar in the upcoming romantic comedy ‘Friends With Benefits’ — she got upset.

‘I will not answer this question,’ Kunis said, laughing uncomfortably before immediately walking away.

Portman, meanwhile, was a bit more up-front.

‘Um, it was awkward,’ Portman said of the scene. ‘You know, we were good friends before, but you do things for your work that aren’t comfortable all the time.’
