The toy shops will be available this month at 20 stores in four markets: Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Chicago.

In L.A., the Sears stores that will carry toys year-round are at the Los Cerritos Mall, Inland Centre, Buena Park Mall, Montclair Plaza, Moreno Valley Mall and Westminster Mall.

The department store chain is celebrating by hosting family-friendly events at select stores around the country.

Southern California shoppers can check out the new toy shop at the Sears at 100 Westminster Mall on Saturday. From noon to 2 p.m., shoppers can play games and win prizes.

Sears is also allowing customers to use its layaway plan when purchasing toys.
