Sports Illustrated jinx? The Angels hope not.

At least one pubication thinks the Angels will overcome their early-season pitching injuries and will have more than enough offense this season.

Sports Illustrated, in its baseball preview issue that comes out this week, has picked the Angels to reach the World Series but then lose to the New York Mets.

The magazine predicts the Angels will beat the Boston Red Sox in the first round of the playoffs and the New York Yankees in the American League championship series. The Angels lost to the Red Sox in the division series in 2004, 2007 and 2008.
