UCLA football: Bruins get another look at No. 1 when they face Oregon

Oregon moved to the top of the Associated Press poll Sunday, meaning UCLA will get a crack at a top-ranked team for the 15th time in school history on Thursday night.

This is the first time the Bruins have played a No. 1 since losing to USC, 66-19, in 2005. UCLA has a 4-10 record against top-ranked teams but has lost the last six games, with its most recent victory being against Ohio State in the 1976 Rose Bowl.

The Bruins only victories over top-ranked teams were all preceded by extensive preparation time. UCLA beat Ohio State (1962) and Nebraska (1972) in season openers. The Bruins beat Michigan State (1966) and Ohio State in Rose Bowls.

UCLA will have had 11 days between games when it faces Oregon on Thursday night in Eugene.
