It started as a classic battle of north versus south: Beverly Hills-based MySpace became the biggest social networking site around by creating a big online party, filled with bands and hookups. But Silicon Valley darling Facebook stole much of MySpace’s buzz by enlisting hordes of software developers to create cool feature that kept people on the site.
