Apple iPads, Amazon Kindles and Sony e-readers part of multi-tablet households, study says

Apple iPads and Amazon Kindles: Family peacekeepers?
In a study of more than 1,600 tablet and e-reader owners, 16% own at least two of the devices. Of those, 46% said that a single tablet would not suffice because their partner or children were constantly hogging it.
Another 21% told research group YouGov that they were given the second device as a gift; 17% of respondents said they picked it up because it featured newly released technology at the time.
Among all tablet users, 18% are thinking about buying another device, mostly so that there would be more to go around for grabby family members.
More than half of tablet-buyers on the market said they wanted an iPad. Meanwhile, 35% said they were considering a Kindle, while 12% were thinking about getting a Sony e-reader.
