Patrick Grigsby, 28, was killed about 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, in a drive-by shooting in the 300 block of West 73rd Street in South-Central L.A.

The Grigsby and two other black men were standing outside a residence when a white sport utility vehicle pulled up. Someone inside the SUV began firing at them, said Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department’s media relations office. She said Grigsby was shot in the chest and leg. He was taken by ambulance to California Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The other men were shot in the leg and treated at the scene. The suspect was described only as a black man.
