Following its gutsy performance against Thousand Oaks two weeks ago and last week’s victory over Oak Park, I thought Royal would have the advantage heading into Tuesday’s match with Westlake.

But the Warriors proved they’re looking good for at least a second-place finish in the Marmonte League this season with a four-game victory over the Highlanders.

Michelle Ketter
had 13 kills and 10 digs and Mimi Sander contributed 15 digs for the impressive-looking Warriors. Una Siljegovic finished with 11 kills for Royal.

I’m still not convinced Westlake has what it takes to divert Thousand Oaks on its seemingly straight path to the league title, but weirder things have happened. And we won’t have to wait long to see who’s the favorite -- Westlake plays at Thousand Oaks on Thursday.
