Top-seeded Paraclete fended off talented Monrovia QB Matt Haggard last week, but can it do the same again against Bishop Diego‘s passing extraordinaire Christian Winnewisser?

Winnewisser passed for 238 yards and three TDs in Bishop Diego’s 36-0 first round victory over Mary Star and passed for 109 yards and four TDs in a 45-0 triumph over Temple City last week. And the Spirits know they better watch out for him again on Saturday when they travel to Santa Barbara City College to take on the Cardinals in the Mid-Valley Division semifinals.

‘We’ve got to put a lot of pressure on him if we want to be successful,’ Paraclete Coach Norm Dahlia said. ‘He’s been their guy and he’s been fabulous...but I know we can put pressure on him. Afterall, we have 40 sacks as a team this season.’

The Spirits also should be wary of a Bishop Diego defense which has posted shutouts in both of its postseason contests.
