After rushing for 1,904 yards and 22 yards this season, Newbury Park RB Chris Brown took over the reigns from the departed Darrell Scott as the most dominant ballcarrier in the Marmonte League this season. And, luckily, I wasn’t the only one who noticed.

Brown has been named the Marmonte League MVP after spearheading a Panthers’ running attack that pushed Newbury Park to a share of the league title and a Northern Division semifinal appearance.

The honor couldn’t have happened to a nicer kid. Brown is always kind of quiet and humble about his accomplishments and always seems to redirect any questions about himself to how his team played -- which can be a little annoying for a blogger, but it makes for an outstanding MVP.

Of course, I’ve heard from other coaches and players he turns into a pretty ruthless guy once his chin strap is buckled and he trots onto the field.

But Brown wasn’t the only Marmonte League honoree. Check out the entire All-Marmonte League team, here.
