Oxnard dominates All-Pacific View League football team

Oxnard had the dubious distinction of meeting Valencia in the first round of the Northern Division playoffs, but at the least two of its finest were recognized by the Pacific View League coaches.

QB Dasmen Stewart was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Yellowjackets to the league title. The junior passed for 1,157 yards and nine TDs and was part of what we dubbed as Oxnard’s ‘Four Horsemen,’ rushing for 621 yards and six TDs.

Senior teammate Derek Shutt anchored the defensive line for the Yellowjackets and was named Defensive Player of the Year. Head Coach Mark Beckham was named Coach of the Year and 14 other Oxnard players made the all-league team
