Oak Park’s Westgate decides to stay close to home at UCLA

If you’re a UCLA football fan, the subject of recruiting must be growing tiresome. Week after week, it seems as if there’s some disheartening news about a prized prospect who had previously committed to the Bruins suddenly having second thoughts about spending his future in Westwood. It’s got to be maddening.

Figured we’d do things a little differently this time around and offer an encouraging update for once. It appears as if Sean Westgate, a hard-hitting 5-foot-11, 195-pound linebacker from Oak Park, has changed his mind and will attend UCLA instead of his first choice, Arizona.

It was an easy change of mind for Westgate, who grew up a UCLA fan. The previous Bruins’ coaching staff never offered him a scholarship. Click here to read some quotes about Westgate’s decision-making process.
