A flawless ruby is rare. A flawless Mickey Mantle rookie card is even more rare. And flawless league records -- in both boys’ and girls ‘ basketball at one school -- well, come on, that’s the rarest of the rare. Well, maybe not, but you’re catching my vibe, right?

At South Bay Lutheran, the male and female Waves have combined for a 20-0 Mulholland League record, and, of course, both are roosted atop the league standings.

Here’s what’s next for both squads...

The South Bay Lutheran boys (14-5, 12-0) will play winless Summit View (0-11, 0-10) on Feb. 6, while the South Bay Lutheran girls (11-4, 8-0) will play second-place L.A. Adventist (10-12, 7-1) the same day.
