Wildcats moving on, but Spartans heading home

Have some good news and some bad news for La Canada residents that enjoy following the local boys’ basketball programs. Two of the area’s best teams were in action Tuesday night in the Southern California Regional playoffs, so without further delay, let’s get to the results.

Renaissance Academy won its Division V quarterfinal showdown against View Park Prep, 50-46. As for everyone’s hometown favorite, the Tom Hofman-coached Spartans... Well, they lost to host La Jolla, 55-50, in a Division III quarterfinal. Sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad, I suppose.
