Jeff Rauh is having as good a year as any pitcher in the state. The senior right-hander from Laguna Hills is 12-0 with a 1.00 earned-run average.

He’ll probably get the ball Tuesday when the Hawks host Irvine University in a battle for first place in the Pacific Coast League.

Rauh, who signed with UC San Diego in February, is having an even more impressive senior season than flame-throwing right-hander Daniel Miltenberger, who went 10-3 with a 1.19 ERA for Laguna Hills six years ago, then went on to play for UCLA.
