When it comes to the girls’ 1,600 meters, there’s Christine Babcock and then there’s everyone else. And we’ve got the video to prove it.

Babcock, a Woodbridge senior and the two-time defending state champion and state-record holder in the event, easily won the Southern Section-Toyota Division II title Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College with a time of 4:49.32. Her time was three seconds better than that of runner-up Hillary Hayes of Edison and nine seconds better than the rest of the field.
