Who needs Garrett Green or Dayne Crist when you have Ryan Kasdorf around?

The 6-foot-2 junior quarterback used his big-time arm Friday night to guide Notre Dame to a 52-28 victory over Saugus, and perhaps more important, help the Knight faithful feel more comfortable about the fact that Green and Crist moved on to USC and Notre Dame, respectively.

Kasdorf completed 10 of 13 passes for the 329 yards and four touchdowns, and that was before halftime. He finished 13 of 20 with 371 yards by game’s end. It should also be mentioned he rushed for 148 yards, highlighted by a 38-yard touchdown run and a 87-yard jaunt.

He threw scoring passes of 68 yards and 78 yards to Chris McNeill and added a 67-yarder and an 83-yarder to James Flynn. The Knights (4-0), ranked No. 8 in the Southland by The Times, built a 42-14 lead by halftime. Saugus’ record dropped to 2-2.
