Football: Barkley finishes fifth on passing list

Mater Dei quarterback Matt Barkley finished his career ranked fifth on the Southern Section’s all-time passing list with 9,471 yards.

He trails only Chris Czernek of Newbury Park (9,831 yards), Keith Smith of Newbury Park (9.971), Jimmy Clausen of Oaks Christian (10,677) and Michael Herrick of Valencia (11,022).
