The first-ever Open Division state football bowl champion will be crowned tonight at the Home Depot Center in Carson and Long Beach Poly (14-0), the Southern Section Pac-5 winner, is a clear favorite over Sac-Joaquin Section Division II winner Sacramento Grant (13-0).

Grant was a surprising pick over North Coast Section Division I winner Concord De La Salle to represent the North in the Open Division game, intended to match the best team from Northern California against the best team from Southern California, regardless of enrollment.

De La Salle, which lost to #2 Corona Centennial in the Division I game Friday night, is ranked #3 in California by Cal-Hi Sports while Grant is #5, but the Pacers can enhance their credibility with a strong showing against the #1 Jackrabbits.

* Update -- Final Score: Sacramento Grant 25, Long Beach Poly 20
