Next month, the City Section will begin the process of forming new leagues with a series of meetings. The City Section is trying to revamp leagues for the 2010-11 school year.

Lots of new schools are joining the City Section, both charter and regular high schools. The San Fernando Valley could see changes because two new high schools, East Valley and the former Byrd Junior High that opens this fall, will be looking to join the East Valley League, which already has seven teams.

There’s talk that Arleta would like to leave the East Valley and join the Valley Mission League. Perhaps Panorama will switch with Arleta. Also, Canoga Park, a West Valley-based school, might be encouraged to leave the East Valley League.

There’s all kinds of options expected to be discussed. Let the suggestions begin.
