Something finally got a response out of the fans here at the Nike Extravaganza this evening.

The Laker girls.

Yep, that’s the halftime entertainment for the game between Fairfax and Chicago Young at Mater Dei High. Not bad for a high school event. It’s got to make you wonder how much Mater Dei Coach Gary McKnight & Co. are really pulling in for this all-day extravaganza.

The game itself is a little bit of a yawner so far, with Fairfax leading, 28-22. Senior center Renardo Sidney has 12 points and senior swingman Solomon Hill nine for the Lions, still riding high from their victory over Western League rival Westchester less than 24 hours ago.

Marcus Jordan, whose father Michael played a little basketball with the Chicago Bulls, leads the Dolphins with 12 points.
