Boys’ basketball: Pacific Hills leads Morningside at halftime

After a taut first quarter, Pacific Hills is starting to pull away from Morningside in the Southern Section Division V-AA championship this evening at Colony High.

Senior guard Derick Flowers has 15 points on five-for-10 shooting for the top-seeded Bruins, who have a 29-20 halftime lead after outrebounding the second-seeded Monarchs, 23-14.

Senior guard A.J. Harris has nine points for Morningside, which shot only 24.1% in the opening half to 38.5% for Pacific Hills.

Freshman forward Jason Kidd Jr.--the son of the Dallas Mavericks star guard by the same name--has two points and four rebounds for Pacific Hills.
