Florida high schools to reduce number of games for financial reasons

The economic challenges facing Florida caused the Florida High School Athletic Assn.’s board of directors Monday to approve reducing the number of games teams can play for all sports except football.

Varsity contests will be reduced by 20% and junior varsity and freshman teams will face cuts of 40%.

I know things are bad, but cutting high school sports contests is no solution.
