Lucky Radley is on the move again. And he could be bound for a familiar destination.

The highly touted linebacker-running back, who bounced around like a pingpong ball last summer when he transferred from Crespi to Taft to Agoura, has moved back to Woodland Hills and could enroll at Taft by the end of the month.

But Agoura isn’t completely out of the picture; Radley might attempt to obtain a special permit that would allow him to keep playing for the Chargers.

In a text message tonight, Radley said his lease in Agoura was only for a year, forcing him to return to his family’s house in Woodland Hills. But he said he has not registered at any school and ‘I’m not sure which one I’m going to between the two.’

Taft Coach Matt Kerstetter said Radley, a major Division I college recruit who rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season, met with Taft’s principal to inquire about eligibility and was told he could enroll and practice by late August.

Adding Radley to a backfield that already includes standout D.J. Morgan could make Taft a favorite to challenge Crenshaw and Narbonne for the City Section title.

As if the situation wasn’t confusing enough, Agoura Coach Charlie Wegher said Radley told him last month that he was leaving the school. Predictably, Wegher was disappointed.

‘We made a pretty big commitment to him and it’s just unfortunate he didn’t make the same commitment to Agoura,’ Wegher said. ‘He’s a good kid, but I think his priority is Lucky Radley, and that makes it hard for him to be a good teammate.’

Radley had hoped to play for Taft in 2008. But his request for a hardship waiver was denied because of some confusion over whether he faced disciplinary action at the time of his transfer from Crespi. When Southern Section officials determined there was no action pending against Radley, he was cleared to play for Agoura.
