North Hollywood, despite an enrollment of close to 3,000 students, has dropped its freshman-sophomore football team after having trouble finding a coach, according to City Section administrator John Aguirre.

The question is how hard did the Huskies look? There are now 25 players listed on the varsity roster who are freshman or sophomores, so that’s plenty to field a team. The Huskies have no reason not to have a team.

By becoming the only City Section school to drop its program this season, North Hollywood leaves its fellow East Valley League teams scrambling to find another game. The school will be put on automatic probation by the City rules committee.

The school is continuing to look for a coach, so perhaps the team can be reinstated.
