Oaks Christian will go into its game against Venice tonight without Cassius Marsh, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound terror at defensive tackle. Marsh sprained his knee during the Lions’ victory over Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline two weeks ago and has not been cleared to play.

‘He’s one of the best defensive players in the country,’ Lions Coach Bill Redell said of Marsh, who is considering USC, Louisiana State and California.

Venice will be shorthanded on defense as well. Senior linebacker Iggy Porchia suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament last Friday and will not play, Coach Angelo Gasca said.
