Dorsey is not going to lack for confidence in its rematch against Crenshaw in a City Section Division I semifinal even though the Dons were held to 18 yards and three first downs earlier this month during a 44-7 loss against their Coliseum League rival.

Asked if he wanted a rematch with the Cougars last week following his team’s victory over San Pedro in the opening round of the City Sectin playoffs, Dorsey defensive back Jabri Proby said, ‘Yes. Big-time.’

What happened in the first meeting? ‘We were real pumped in the beginning,’ Proby said. ‘We were just feeling ourselves too much. I think we got a little bit into the crowd too much, worrying about the crowd. And a little bit of play-calling. But if we get a rematch, I promise you we’re going to win. I promise you that.’

I wonder if that quote is going to make its way onto a few bulletin boards at Crenshaw.
