Boys’ basketball: Mater Dei surges back ahead

Mater Dei was in real danger early in the third quarter after Etiwanda took an eight-point lead, but but the Monarchs have put together a nice comeback and lead 55-51 going into the fourth quarter.

Reserve guard Eli Stalzer gave Mater Dei a big lift in the quarter with a pair of three-point baskets, and the duo of Gary Franklin Jr. and Tyler Lamb finally started to assert itself.
